Mrs. Brooks is Melody's mother who takes the time to take care of her.
Mrs. Brooks is a dynamic character because there were a lot of things that she didn't know Melody felt until she got a machine which helps her communicate. One example of this is one page 138, "So I pushed a couple buttons, and the machine speaks the words I've never been able to say. "I love you."
